ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

You may have seen this phrase or Greek symbols before, they translate to “Come and get them!”. Often written as “Molon Labe!” in English script.

You may be familiar with the Battle of Thermopylae, upon which the movie “300” was based on. In this story, Leonidas, the King of Sparta and his small band of elite warriors faced down far superior numbers. Persian Emperor Xerxes offered to spare their lives if they would lay down their arms. In defiance, Leonidas and his men responded to Xerxes with these famous words, “ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ”.

Ultimately, the Spartans were slaughtered to the last man but not before inflicting massive casualties on the Persian forces and holding Thermopylae for 3 days. Today, it is the battle cry of many who believe in the 2nd Amendment and resist the idea of disarming lawful American citizens.
